Our Story

My swiss grandfather farmed the Nebraska plains through the Depression — hard work, hard seasons. He gave thanks for what he had and shared what he could with his neighbors. My aunt Peg Quinn eventually found the words for what people saw in him: he emanated Buddha nature. A man who met every moment, good or hard, with a smile on his face, a song on his whistle, and a deep sense of gratitude.

I was always drawn to immersive sensory experiences — sight, smell, taste, texture. Bathhouses in Budapest, eucalyptus forests in California, hammams in Morocco, jasmine-scented streets of Seville. At some point, something shifted. I didn't just want to participate. I wanted to bring those experiences to others — to create something that pulls people into the present. Edelweiss is my aspiration to live more like Grandpa Schwaninger.
